Summer over came several problems but still made the finals for the race.
Her racecar was redesigned with less than 7 days until race day.
Summer not get any testing until 10:30 the night before and
even this was without the canopy she would have to see through to drive.
Never having seen her car complete until it was unloaded from the
Green Country Cycle City trailer Saturday morning, she was very
surprised! What was an unpainted plywood box the night before had become
a sleek Stealth Fighter.
Her first pass was a perfectly straight run and the first test of the
new braking system that she had never used before.
Unfortunately
the steering broke
on the tow back to the top of the hill before her second
run, after a mad dash Jack Seawright the “Night Rider”
came to the rescue and welded the steering arm getting
the Stealth Car and Summer back
into the race. The rest of the afternoon was
uneventful and Summer did a wonderful job getting her #90 Stealth car into the finals but lost in the first round to the #92 car that won last year.
She is looking forward to next year and a new faster Stealth car.
Team Stealth would like to thank everyone that helped get this car to the track.
